HELLENIC CRANIOFACIAL CENTER TEAM 

Alexander C. Stratoudakis, MD, F.A.C.S. Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery. Director of the Hellenic Craniofacial Center.

Dr. Stratoudakis is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Athens. He received his training in General Surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics, and in Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery at Duke University Medical Center.
He was a Fellow in Craniofacial Surgery with Dr Paul Tessier in Paris, France. Dr Stratoudakis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, the European Society of Craniofacial Surgery, the American Cleft Palate - Craniofacial Association, the European Assciation of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

 Athanasios Xophyllis, M.S., C.C.C. Speech and Language Pathology. 

He received his undergraduate degree in Speech Therapy and Patholinguistics at the University of Cologne, Germany. He competed furhter specialty training in Speech Pathology -Audiology at the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, IN, at Loyola University,  he is a diplomate of the American Speech and Hearing Association and a member of the American Cleft Palate - Craniofacial Association.  

Kanaris Panagopoulos, MD., M. Sc.; F.A.C.S. Neurosurgery.

Dr. Panagopoulos is a graduate of the University of Thessaloniki Medical School. He received his training in Neurosurgery at London University and Newcastle upon Tyne University, UK.
He was a Research Fellow at Harvard University, Boston, MA, USA. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. and a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (USA).  

Constantine Alexandrou, MD. Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery.

Dr Alexandrou is a graduate of the University of Athens Medical School. He received his specialty training at the University of Kagawa Medical School in Kagawa, Japan. He was a Fellow in Craniofacial Surgery at the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, New York University Medical Center.
He is a member of the Japanese Society of Plastic Surgery, and of the Japanese Society of Microsurgery.  

Iakovos Petmezakis, MD. Otolaryngology.

Associate Professor of the University of Athens Medical School. Dr. Petmezakis is a graduate of the Medical School of the Free University, Berlin, Germany. He received his specialty training in Greece and in Tubingen and Bonn, Germany.
He is a member of the German Otolaryngological Society  and of the Austrian Otolaryngological Society.

Athanasia Pavlopoulou M.D. Anesthesiology – Pediatric Anesthesiology.

Dr Pavlopoulou is a graduate of the Catholic University of Louvain, Brussels, Belgium. She received her specialty training and certification at the Catholic University of Louvain, Brussels, Belgium.

George Charonis M.D. Ophthalmology.

Dr Charonis is a graduate of the University of Athens Medical School. He received his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the University of Louisville, KY, USA., and subspecialty training in Orbital Surgery and Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, USA. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Dimitrios Mavreas, Orthodontics.

Dr. Mavreas graduated from the University of Athens School of Dentistry.He received his specialty training at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and at the Royal Dental College in Aarhus, Denmark. He is a member of the European Orthodontic Society, and of the World Federation of Orthodontists.  

Maria Nasika, Orathodontics.

Dr. Nasika received her dental degree from the University of Athens School of Dentistry.She completed her specialty training at Bergen University in Bergen, Norway. She is a member of the European Orthodontic Society.  

Michael B. Petersen, MD, PhD, DMSc. Genetics.

Director of the Deparment of Genetics and Molecular Biology, Mitera Maternity and Surgical Center, and director of the Department of Genetics, Institute of Child Health, Athens.He is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of copenhagen, Denmark. He received his training in Clinical Genetics and Cytogenetics at the John F. Kennedy Institute, Denmark, and in Molecular Genetics at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A.
He is a board member of the European Society of Human Genetics, a founding member of the European Chromosome 21 Consortium, and a member of the American Society of Human Genetics, and of the Human Genome Organization.  

Lisa Papagiannouli, Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Papagiannouli is a graduate of the the University of Athens School of Dentistry, where she is currently Associate Professor. She received her specialty training at U.C.L.A. School of Dentistry in L.A.. she is a member of the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and of the International Association of Dentistry for Children.
